Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman is a gold-medal-winning Olympic gymnast, who led her U.S. team to victories in the years 2012 and 2016. The six Olympic gold medals comprise of an unprecedented total. Additionally, she was one of the two World Champion teams. The native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's enthusiasm for sport can be traced back to the "mommy and me" gymnastics class that she attended when she was just 18 months old. Aly has always been an ardent advocate of body positive and has been an advocate and a leader in the gym. She recently spoke out about Larry Nassar's sentencing. Aly Raisman, born in 1994, took up gymnastics when she was an infant and was instrumental in helping with the U.S. team to win the 2011 World Championships. In 2012, the gymnast won two gold medals at the London Olympics the first at the team event and one for individual floor exercises - and also one bronze on the beam. In the year 2016 Raisman returned to compete in the Olympics in Rio, winning silver medals in the individual floor and all-around final as well as gold in the women's team gymnastics competition. In 2017, Raisman revealed she had suffered sexual assault at the by team doctor Larry Nassar, and the next year, she filed a lawsuit against USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee.
